Finally, christmas is done! All that running around, hiding presents, being a ninja about wrapping stuff up - all for an hour's screaming and excitement.

Am I the only one who finds the entire thing exhausting? :D

It gets worse with age, believe me.

I have a 3 year-old granddaughter for whom I bought/wrapped just two gifts. Paid cash for the gifts, so there's not even any interest to be paid on them. And that was the extent of my Christmas preparation, as my son had taken my Christmas tree and all the other decorations to his house.

This might sound like a scrooge, but christmas day is just like a normal day to me.

Christmas the time of year where we all pretend everything is fine. ughhh I hate it. I get to deal with family all while acting like everything is fine. I honestly hate, the olidays suck. They once made me so happy. But now that I'm seeing all the stupid things that happen and how fake everything is I just enjoy it anymore. I also get tired of having to be around people I don't know well or don't like because its Christmas.

I actually miss the family aspect of the holidays. My son and granddaughter come over for an hour or two and then they are away. He to his girlfriend's family functions and she is often away to her mother's family functions. And they are the only family I have here in town. I've an aunt and uncle who cannot walk across the street to see me when they are in town, so no reason for me to drive to Indianapolis (60 miles) to see them.

The holidays are a bleak reminder I have so little family left.

Same here. I think its the problem of so much drama that makes any family togetherness impossible to enjoy. It also dosen't help that my father refuses to come visit me. I can't be the one to do all the visiting.
